BOOKS
Which brings me to 27 new novels and 2 new non-fiction books, for a total of 29 total books on the year. I had aimed to catch up in July and I just about did!
I had been meaning to read Hammered for five years now, and I'm glad I waited until right before Readercon to do so, as the book kept coming up in panels! Similarly, The King of Attolia was a book I am glad I waited to read until after my delight & amazement in the first two of the series had settled down-- I was able to appreciate the new POV on his own merits without gnashing my teeth wondering why it could all be about my favs. The trio of Courtney Milan novels were actually quite good-- Milan has a way of subverting your expectations & taking Regency tropes and twisting them right in your gut so you really see what a fucked up work it is, even with the shiny trappings of nobility tossed about.
MOVIES
I'm up to 52 total movies on the year, of which 28 have been new.
And I actually saw Pacific Rim in theaters three times. ^.^;;
