There's a lesson in baseball that definitely applies to the week I've had.

No matter how brilliantly you play the game, you lose a third of your games. But a good team learns from those loses, fine tunes the mechanisms that do work and takes great care to fix those that clearly don't. Loses do not define a good team, but they don't ignore them.

I've had a truly shitty week. I feel like a pitcher who has lost control of their mechanics, depression is scoring homer after homer, and it doesn't matter how good my tools and behaviors are, those homers are making the outfield useless. But you can't base life off how you play a single game, a single week. You can only fix what doesn't work this time and get yourself ready for next round. Sure this week feels like I lost 12-0... but there's a whole lot of games ahead, and there's always hope, there's always a chance.

So that said, good things happened this week!

  1. Ru sent me the most adorable fingerless gloves you guys. I need to take pictures they are so cute & soft & omg it seriously made up for an awful week omg thank you Ru so much they are seriously the best X0
  2. Baseball Olympics! My two favorite things have joined forces to have me up at 3am watching the Netherlands cream everyone & then Japan somehow hold in to beat Taiwan with pure guts & some of the most brilliant short game I've seen in years. GOOD BASEBALL FEELS
  3. Narratives are giving me more good than bad things! Isshin Gaiden @ Bleach, Ninja!world backstory @ Naruto, OTP feels at OUAT & HIMYM, & every book I've read this year has been a 4+ star rating. The last is cheating, I know, but still
  4. I'm .2 away from being 179 pounds :D (I was 196.7 December 28th)
  5. Dude those fingerless gloves are so cute they deserve a second mention. THEY JUST LOOK SO DASHING X0

Well, to take another lesson from the game, maybe it's just spring and you're a little rusty. It'll only get easier to strike out depression as Daylight Savings and the sun come back. I seriously thought I was starting to backslide or my meds weren't working or some shit today, which is funny when you consider I'm overdue to go in for a meds tune-up because I am probably on too *high* a dose, but I was tired and whiny and... hey derpy, you have a huge sinus headache, maybe that's why! Which considering sweetie has a cold, should have been higher on the checklist. So one DayQuil and I feel much less whiny. Wish they were all that easy!

YAY BASEBALL and YAY AWESOME GLOVES.
