The relevant facts:
The first sacrifice for Fanime will be cosplaying. This is unsurprising, as this will be the third year in a row I've tossed the idea out in order to save money XD. While it would be awesome to test my sewing skills and my ability to construct a way to force the boobs into a proper Matsumoto outfit that remains functional, cleavage bearing, and comfortable, the fact is I would rather spend my money on food at the convention. There are so many places I want to take Pixie and Sage-- I'm pretty sure that Indian place we found last year has veggie options! And these events are frequently more about the people and food than they are about the more fannish activities. The downside to sacrificing cosplaying is I will not have that incentive to drop weight. And as I gained eight pounds in Vegas (and the days after), this is very troubling.
The second sacrifice for Fanime will be my food budget for the 15 weeks leading up to the event. In particular, I need to stop making Safeway, CVS, and/or Walgreens runs. They are diet antagonists and only provide nasty sources for temptation. I must also cease relying on mall food, as it always does me ill in the end and I can save quite a bit of money bringing in chicken salad sammiches instead. This has a nice benefit of giving me more time to chill out on my breaks, and allows me to bank the spare bits of money I will be bringing in the next few months instead of returning them to the mall as soon as I receive them.
I remain undecided on the gym front, but I have all month to figure that one out.
- Fanime is 108 days away (or 15 weeks and 3 days)
- My membership is already purchased (:D)
- February-Mid April sees the lowest paycheck yields for the year (A good paycheck is still only 70% of a winter paycheck)
- My birthday falls precisely one month before Fanime (Aunt #3 is roughly 60% of hotel, both sets of parents send cash as I am apparently worst relative to attempt to buy for ^.^;;)
- Vegas cleaned out my savings. (Damn you tasty Vegas food ;___;)
- According to my quickie tax mojoing, I should receive $145 between March and May (Assuming I can figure out how to print my W2 from LB's new partner that hates macs/safari). Most of it will go to rent.
- Assuming I have to pay for remaining hotel monies and only allow myself the tiniest amount of money to spend at con, I still have to come up with roughly $425 dollars, $175 of it to cover the loss of working income so I can cover June's rent. Yes, that gives me 25 dollars to spend on con, including food.
