I can't believe it is the 3rd already. Where is March going?!

Yeah, I'm not in a micoclimate at all...
Santa Clara's right by the San Jose Airport, but my tiny section tends to get the WAY more wind/rain than the Airport even though I can technically walk to the airport. Go figure o.0;;
Anyway, this storm is ridiculous. I was walking home on the phone with my mom commenting on the blue skies and the pretty rainbow and BAM pouring down rain! The rain died after a minute (just about long enough for me to wrestle the hood up without dropping the phone), and then the winds picked up, knocking the hood off again... right in time for another wave of rain to hit. XD
Didn't really notice the rain again until almost 9, when all of the sudden it sounded like a hurricane was landing ashore (you know, from the pool); opened up the door and WHAM smacked in the face with a sheet of hard rain. I've *never* had rain actually hit my door before-- I have enough of an overhang that it takes a very determined rain/wind combo to smack me silly. XD
We're suppose to be under foul weather conditions right on through Friday, so hopefully that will get our rain totals up so they will stop threatening to ration water (because if that happens, my rent goes up, and I can barely afford rent right now stupid work).
I should have two big Mara posts up later today (you know, after I transcribe my crazy notes into something post-worthy), so yay funtimes :D It sucks we missed having a chat the other day-- I got super dizzy and crawled into bed for a few hours. Stupid allergies. -.-;;.

Date: 2009-03-03 03:44 pm (UTC)(I'm a serious weather dork, to the point one of my former housemates in Redwood City put up a weather station on the back porch for me. If I had better maths, I'd have gone into meteorology. XD I used to post daily weather reports on my LJ -- tried starting that up again here in Downtown Hell, but it got really boring posting "Sunny and hot" everydamn day... XD)
Ahh, you have the best icons <333

My hometown in Oregon was nicknamed 'the climate,' which got me interested in meteorology, too. Although, not nearly as interested as I was in geology (which is why it was one of my minors. But, living through earthquakes and coming out fascinated by them is a common problem in California...), so I never took any classes in college.
You should start up the weather reports again, but pick a place with more variable weather as a pseudo-base. It could be a neat feature XD
