I forgot today was the first day of semi annual. XD. I was running late so I chanced riding the bike to work (even with brakes not working).

Okay, let me point out the problem being the back brakes-- the front ones work if you consider they slow you down. Eventually. Usually after you've hit something.

Anyway, I managed to get to work on time and not die, but was faced with the store being mysterious open at 7AM.

And then it hit me: Semi Annual, and I didn't bring snacks. OHSHI!

So I head to the back and floorset left it an utter disaster area. And we got 40 boxes of shipment in, you know, the first day of semi annual. I think we're sitting on 60 hours again-- we have at least 2 DP and 9 PP boxes, so I know what I'll be doing the next few days XD. I cleaned up the best I could and spent the day hanging sale, training new guys, pushing out PINK panties, and, the last half hour of my shift, did my best to mark down all the clearance PP's that the markdown team missed.

I think next semi, if I'm still there, I'll be on the markdown team for sure, because new!managers made googily eyes at how fast I did the markdowns I found. Fear my speed with a price gun. FEAR IT!

So after work I wandered down to the bike rack, trying to get iPod to work... and the iPod broke again. Sigh. But this was immediately counteracted by the vision that waited for me not five steps later: bike's back brake was decidedly no longer (well, quite as) busted.

The mechanism is still wonky and missing a piece, but the cable isn't loose anymore and, amazingly, the bike now stops when you squeeze the lever!

Well, mostly. It takes longer to stop than before, but the bike does come to a complete stop now. And the bike rides like the back brake is still pressing against the tire due to the actual mechanism being busted, but it STOPS so that's all that matters at the moment. HURRAH BIKE BEING MOSTLY FUNCTIONAL.

I need to find out who my guardian angel at the bike rack is and bring them baked goods. <333

And because the cable was the chief problem with not being able to fix the bike, now I can actually hunt down the parts on eBay and hopefully fix the rest of the problem. It will be expensive, but I think I can get away without having to get a new bike.

So the bike has resurrected itself yet again and hopefully will see through its 14th year XD.

After all that excitement, I crashed and slept most of the night. Oops XD. When I woke up I did make an LJ gallery for my Nutrition Logs from Sparkpeople, which hopefully will keep me accountable to diet since I've been slacking majorly. And tomorrow? I have to go to the gym. NO EXCUSES.

But all in all? For the first day of SAS it wasn't that bad of a day. :D
