kolI know it is slightly ridiculous, but I'm so upset at not being able to go to the write-in tonight that I've been sniffling for the last half-hour. I bought a new bike light today to replace the one my uncle broke a few months ago and... I can't get the damn thing on right.
I've stripped two screws already and the stupid light just spins around, mocking my fix-it efforts. Actually, I think I'm more upset about not being able to fix the bike than the write-in. But seriously, wtf bike. I can't get the stupid light OFF the bike either, because I stripped the screw. I HATE YOU BIKE LIGHT.
Trying to find something good about this, but all I can think of is at least the new handlebar cushions fit?
edit: Duct tape appears to be working! I'm going to do a test run to the store down the block to see if it holds. But with the crazy thunder storm coming in and how prone to sickness I am, I decided I won't try and go to the write in anyway. Because that was the big lesson of Fanime-- don't push yourself to be in a situation that will just make you sick (for months and months) later. I'll just make my way to a write-in on Sunday and everything will be peachy :D.
THANKS YOU GUYS FOR PUTTING UP WITH MY PRE-NANOWRIMO NERVES BREAKDOWN <33. At least this year I didn't do something stupid like delete my pre-writing notes and angst about how stupid the plot was (2006) or engage in the most ridiculous fight ever with my roommate (2003, the year we almost got kicked out of the dorms because SOMEONE had to go drinking vodka with the door open. REALLY. We had to flee from the dorms for a whole day! I LOST VALUABLE WRITING TIME!). Apparently Nanowrimo makes me fanwanky o.0;;

Date: 2008-11-01 03:30 am (UTC)The problem is I stripped the screws keeping it loosely tied to the bike-- I can't get them off and I can't tighten them. But maybe the duct tape can create enough of a hold? I'm probably just going to have to get another mechanism to keep the back light on. -.-;;
Housemates came in and told me we're suppose to be hit by a nasty thunderstorm with high winds about the time I'd be coming home, so, considering my lungs, this is probably for the best. Better to be home safe and snug than catching another case of CB, after all XD.
Wow, I feel loads better now. Thanks for the suggestion-- I'll probably have an edit in a few if the duct tape works!
