Nano update!

kolA little over an hour of writing and I'm at 2,076 words. Over @ Ink: Ready to go-- A drabble/atmosphere piece about the first-minute write-in at Denny's. I actually like this more than what I wrote for the novel. There are also some pictures of the write-in up on my flickr, too (I uploaded them while I was at Denny's. Hurrah for free wifi!
It was weird being out on the bike so late. The sky had this eerie, backlit orange quality to it that fit the post-Halloween vibe. Passing by 2 cemeteries on my trek didn't help elevate the mood any, either.
Right outside of the first (the old Santa Clara Catholic cemetery on Winchester), I had to stop and take a serious breather. The legs felt like they were treading through cement, and I imagine I looked closer to a zombie than a doctor. I think the word sprint at Denny's sucked up the last of my energy. Oye.
So glad to be home <3.
