kolI went to visit with my mother today. It went fairly well, all things considered.
Unfortunately, Togos had it out for me. Not only did the guy get my order wrong (which in his defense, I did just give him the number-- but he should know what a number 11 is, as it is still a popular sandwich), but he completely botched my mother's order. Not only did I tell him the number, but I clarified exactly what sandwich it was-- a turkey with guacamole. He even repeated it back to me! Yet somehow my mom ended up with a 'club' sandwich-- no guacamole, barely any turkey, and HAM. HAM. WHAT PART OF TURKEY WITH GUACAMOLE SPELLS HAM?!
Then ... my mom calls to announce she's put Star Trek: First Contact in. And my plan to just stay for sandwiches dies a brutal death. Because that? Is my second favorite Star Trek movie. I bet if it had whales and Mr. Spock in it, I would say it was by far my favorite movie. Because Mr. Spock/Whales = my ST Movie OTP.
The rain that had been threatening all day started in just as Data was doing his saving the day bit. So I had to walk to and stay at the bus stop as the rain came down, getting more and more miserable as time went on. But at least it took away most of the cigarette smoke from my jacket-- it only needed light febreezing when I got home.
Conclusion of today (so far): Togos apparently hates me, but at least I got my mom's christmas presents from Aunt #1 over to her without any bodily damage to my person XD
