I did not fall down the escalators post-midnight shift! It was a very productive overnight, in that I knocked back about 12 hours of shipment over 6 hours, 15 minutes of processing time. What makes that number all the more striking is what happened during the overnight, which those of you who follow my twitter already probably know.
In short, I got very, very sick at work, so much so I tossed my soup and was running a fever all of my shift. This was equal parts the sinus infection and not being able to get brain to shut off so I could catch some sleep before the shift from hell. Additionally there's no AC in the mornings, and with the lights on all night you can imagine how humid and nasty it was in the store. Suffice to say, I was not feeling my best, so I'm frankly amazed I was able to knock back as many boxes as I did.
I blame the crackers I scarfed down after I crashed on my 30m break at 4:30-- they settled my stomach down enough that I was able to take some badly needed meds. An hour later and I was back to processing at about half-speed, which was fast enough to finish all the remaining shipment boxes. The guy I was processing with was finishing the last true box, but that doesn't count X3.
But I can rest now, once brain decides to shut off, as I don't have to go back into the store until Sunday night <33.
