Knee update: yesterday was pure agony. It hurt so much after work, I waited 50 minutes to ride the bus a whole three blocks. I wanted desperately to call in sick to work, but gritted my teeth and just got through it. And you know? Despite nearly fainting an hour in, I was alright. I just hobbled a lot and kept going. ( Why have I been in so much pain? )
Which left me spending all my time at home since Monday night in bed, with my legs elevated, trying not to cry out every time I moved. Not very conducive for novel writing, although I did manage to catch up on my Netflix cache and all the shows on TiVo as well as follow the WGA strike going on.
But the remarkable thing was, I still wrote. It was just over 1,000 words each day and SUCKED, but I gritted my teeth and got those words out. And that raw determination means so much to me, because it reinforces my writing and who I see myself as a writer. And I was definitely rewarded for it, because this morning I had a wicked visual dream, and when I woke up, it was like the muse had bitch-slapped the novel back into my head.
Why hello there, writer-brain. So nice to see you again. And since I've caught the writer-brain again, tonight I'm going to try and hit 32,000. I'll see you guys at 32,001.
