Insomnia Cycle #2

For the second time this month, I've been hit by a rogue insomnia cycle that has left me pretty braindead & making somewhat hilarious snafus. I mistook Google's adsense for their analytics products, the Baltimore Ravens for the Atlanta Falcons, spent a full minute trying to open a locked sliding glass door, walked out of the house & nearly made it onto the bike without a bra on, was increasingly incapable of typing on the iphone, body checked not one but four fixtures at work, signed my name as "name" twice today, and when I went to make a protein shake just now, I used oat bran instead of protein powder. Which turned into a tasty mistake, since I just invented chocolate protein oat bran pancakes, but wow could that have gone bad quick *__*

Amusing bits aside, I haven't figured out what the trigger is, and I'm really quite over crashing at 7am and waking up 3 hours later, as I've done the last 3 days. My current theory is somehow the brain is confusing darkness for awake times and brightness for siesta times, a theory that might be right considering when I turned the light on just now I yawned. XD

I've had: No caffeine in 30 hours, no anxiety or depressive thinking in 2 days, no unusual levels of stress, no breathing issues, the sinus headache I had was fleeting and gone well before I would have gone to sleep, and while I did add vitamins back to routine I've been taking them as soon as I wake up. The apartment was shrouded in darkness from the moment I got home, but I didn't start feeling sleepy until I turned the monitor on to complain on this dreamwidth entry and again, yawned when I put the light on.

Blerg. If I could have a super power, my vote would be the ability to sleep whenever I wanted :/ And since I just yawned again, I think I'm going to try going to sleep with the light on, maybe that will help. :/

In conclusion, :/

Two thoughts:

1) this happens to me fairly often as part of PMS
2) if you recently work a late shift (or multiple late shifts) your body may be stuck in that time frame still - especially since its one that it was used to for a long while.
